The Business/Law Exchange is a unique program that increases understanding of issues at the intersection of entrepreneurship and law for both McGuire Entrepreneurship Program students and University of Arizona law students.
Each McGuire Program team is partnered with third-year students from the James E. Rogers College of Law. In a mock law firm setting, the law students offer valuable counsel by identifying and assisting teams with potential legal issues with their new ventures. This collaboration continues from the earliest development phase through actual venture planning, development, funding applications and, sometimes, launch.
Through this exchange, McGuire students receive valuable information at the earliest stages of concept exploration, allowing them to engage with the legal community on an ongoing basis for assistance with partnership formation, patents, intellectual property issues, etc., and include legal considerations and strategies to their business plans.
